Greetings,
I got relieved from Wipro on ** August **** after completion of my notice period. I was expecting my relieving letter and when I did not receive it, I contacted my final settlement team and they informed me that I need to pay Rs **,***.** to get the relieving letter. I requested for the basis of the charges and they stated "Regarding the recovery in FS under negative Salary and WBP was because of LOP in July month, as based on the system records you have ** LOPs in the month of July ****.
We have processed ** days of July salary and same would have been credited in your account by now. So we recovered * days of July salary in FS (** – ** = * Days, ** - * =* Days recovery)."
Now let me state the reason for the LOP's I received during the month of July **** and the previous months. Ever since March **** right before lockdown started, my process in wipro started issuing the computer right at the last moment (i.e. on ** March ****(Saturday) without any prior intimation). By the time I came to know about it, I had already left chennai for my home town(Erode) as my Mom had a surgery. Ever since the lock down started (** March ****), Multiple times I have been requesting them(Manager, HR) to help me with receiving the computer to me as I would not be able to travel to Chennai due to lockdown and e pass approval issues. Until ** June **** they refrained to help and after that they decided to provide it only on one condition, i.e. if I revoke my papers dropped on ** June **** (which I believe they have no authority to tell me on how long I should be staying in the company) . I refused to revoke the papers since I was already frustrated with the support wipro was providing and had other job offer who were ready to provide every support that I was required.
I requested my HR for early relieving since I was losing the opportunity to earn money that I was supposed to be earning and was not being able to earn due to lack of support by wipro. But he stated, as per the policy I am supposed to be serving ** days of notice period or else wipro would levy charges for early relieving. I tried arguing stating with no support, what is the point of holding me. But I was forced to stay since I did not have enough money to pay * months salary and leave immediately.
I waited for ** days of notice period to end and then I left the organisation. But receiving the **, ***.** rupees due on my name, i was shocked. When I contacted HR, he stated that we were paying you the basic pay in your absence and since you got relieved we are recovering it few of it. Now the question that confuses me is why I am being held responsible for LOP's (Loss of pays) I got in previous months as it was due to lack of support from wipro. They are also justifying for not providing the required support by stating that we used to pay you the basic pay. Please understand I did not ask for basic pay,. I requested them to let go off me so that I could find other opportunities to earn in the crucial time of Covid **. They credited the basic pay in my account and are trying to recover through "Negative Salary and WBP excess utilized now" since I am left the organization. I already incurred a loss of pay for more than ** days which I would have earned if I had been provided with the required support. Above that now they are expecting me to pay.
Wipro is having it in all the ways (i.e. did not provide computer due to which I have not been able to earn the total pay since March ** ****, did not let go off me early despite realizing that the required support could not be provided by them, held me for ** days by just paying the basic pay which I never asked for and now without intimation, part of amounts are imposed on me for recovery. Their actions implicates as if I ran with their money.
Request to help me on waiving of the fee levied to me.
