Holy Family Hospital - Extra unused medicines not taken back by Hospital Pharmacy
Krishna Surendra Agrawal filed complaint against Holy Family Hospital on Aug 26, 2020
I was admitted in Holy Family hospital, St.Andrews Road, Bandra West, Mumbai-****** on **/**/** for Covid positive and was discharged on **/**/**. During my stay at the hospital the medical staff ordered medicines and injections directly to hospital pharmacy. On the day of discharge I was shocked to know that the Pharmacy refused to take back UNUSED and Sealed packed medicnes and Injections which were billed to me. Nowhere i their bills it is mentioned that medicines are non-returnable nor there is any information to the patient. Patients come to know only at the time of discharge they are not taking back the extra medicines. On the Website of Holy family hospital though they claim that extra medicines can be returned.
In my case I had extra medicines/injections worth more than Rs.****/- . Likewise many other patients had similar experience.
This I feel is not ethical and total waste of money when a patient has already spent lacs of rupees on treatment. Hence I wish to lodge a complain against the hospital pharmacy. Though the amount may not look big enough but the hospital is making lacs of rupees in this and patients are at a loss
