Hotel New Lion Gate Darjeeling
- Darjeeling Hotel is not refunding money even if cancelled before 12 days Closed
I have booked * rooms at Hotel New Lion Gate, Darjeeling for * nights (March **-**). Rents per night for the rooms were INR **** and **** respectively. In whatsapp they have asked me to send amount for * night for both the rooms as advance booking amount. I have transferred it on *th Feb to the bank account number given to me. On March ** due to recent corona virus outbreak, we have decided to cancel our trip and informed the same to the hotel through whatsapp and asked to cancel our booking and transfer the refund amount. First they have not responded although they have read the messages. So, I have called the on March ** morning, a lady picked up and informed me that the amount is not refundable, however, it will be adjusted during our next stay at the same hotel - to which I agreed and asked her to send me the same in whatsapp in their proper letterhead, she agreed to this. However, just * minutes later she has called me and told that after discussing with her senior she has come to know that there is not refund and no next time adjustment of the advance booking amount, rather only a **% discount will be given next time. To this I extremely felt cheated and asked them to write all these and send me in whatsapp. But when they have sent, they have not mentioned the non-refundable policy only mentioned a **% discount will be given next time, that too hand written. It looks like there is no proper policy in that hotel, and they are only looting the customers during the alarming situation of corona outbreak!
