We used this company's service to move our household items from Bangalore to Siliguri in June ****. Our shipment arrived in Siliguri through a *rd company called Leo's. There was no representative from Pikkol to hand over our shipment. The state in which our belongings came was a complete shock. Almost all the items came broken, soaked or lost. The extent of the damage was heartbreaking. I have attached the photos of the damages. The utter lack of professionalism as well as lack of humane care for other people's possessions were truly shocking. Not a single item was spared the brutal handling. The boxes were soaked and torn with big holes and items falling out from it, even strong wooden furnitures were broken( e.g.the divan bed's legs were broken), drawers were chipped, nails hammered through the TV unit , strangely! Kitchen items like the oven and rice cooker came bent and broken. All glass items were shattered to pieces, dinner sets and tea sets, even the wooden frames of photos! All clothing items were wet and color ran through them. Some items were lost as there were holes in the soaked boxes, things were falling off as they carried the boxes to the *nd floor. The fact that in Calcutta, they bribed a *rd company a sum of Rs. **,*** to deliver shows complete lack of accountability. The *rd company called me * hours before the arrival. They couldn’t answer for the damage,as they were just asked to add my shipment into their truck since they were heading to the same city, and were paid Rs. **,*** to do so. Until today even after repeated asking, Pikkol has failed to answer any of our queries or address our grievances. Pikkol asked us to send pictures of the damage to assess it, while they should have been there to deliver and witness in the first place. After a few months of writing to them and sending pictures of the damage, without any justification or response to our repeated queries, they said they would reimburse Rs. ****. Then the amount went up to Rs.**,*** and now they are willing to settle by paying us Rs.**,*** for the devastation they have caused. However, still there has been no response to our queries on the lapse of their duties or justification of the amount they are willing to pay. The monetary damage is nowhere near what they are willing to pay. There were also items damaged that have no monetary value! We are very hurt by this incident and the utter lack of respect and responsibility from Pikkol. We are seeking justice through this forum and hope to achieve that.
