Sub: Complaint against the Insurance company (ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company).
With reference to the aforesaid subject, I would like to submit the following facts about the fraudulent activity and deficiency of service of ICICI LOMBARD GENERAL INSURANCE COMPANY LIMITED ICICI Lombard House, ***, Veer Savarkar Marg Near Siddhivinayak Temple, Prabhadevi Mumbai MH ****** India:
*. On **-**-**** I have purchased online two-wheeler insurance for two vehicles Royal Enfield (**** Make) and TVS NTRQU (**** Make).
*. For Royal Enfield (Showroom price Rs*.** lacs- bill attached-a) ICICI Lombard charged Rs ****/- (Rupees Five thousand five hundred and sixty-five only) as premium for this vehicle – Policy copy attached-b
*. For TVS NTRQU (Showroom price Rs *****) ICICI Lombart charged Rs. ****/- (Rupees Four thousand four hundred only) as premium for this vehicle. – Policy copy attached-c
*. ICICI Lombart has given IDV values of Rs. *****/- (Rupees thirty-five thousand only) and Rs. *****- (Rupees Fifty-thousand only) respectively for Royal Enfield (**** Make) and TVS NTRQU (**** Make).
*. A critical review of the above two policies has depicted a major error in the policy document as the vehicle (Royal Enfield) having both higher price and premium value has a lesser IDV of Rs ***** only as compared to the second vehicle (TVS). From this comparison, it is evident that there is definitely a major mistake in the policy document.
*. Being a common man I was not having any idea about the technicality of IDV and other terms of insurance. Hence I could not point out the same error at the time of purchase of policy document. I only came to know for the same when is filed claim (claim No MT-********) for my lost vehicle (FIR No ****/**** BASNI Jodhpur) in Dec.****.
*. To rectify this problem I have requested to ICICI Lombard (copy attached-d)
*. On *th April I have received the reply from the ICICI Lombard in which the indicated that the showroom price of my bike (Royal Enfield is *****) hence the allotted IDV of Rs ***** is correct which cannot be changed. –Copy attached-e
From the above points and attached papers the act and conduct it is proved that de novo ICICI Lombard has done a fraudulent activity and deficiency of service and this act and conduct harassed me notably and by the act and conduct of company caused a financial loss and mental stress. Thus in order to resolve the difficulties, I would like to request to please order the company to refund/pay claim amount as per actual value of the vehicle. Also, in order to resolve the difficulties, I would also request to kindly order ICICI Lombard to pay an additional sum of Rs.**,***/- (Rupees Fifty thousand only) for the mental agony and harassment suffered me. I look forward to your positive decision in the above mentioned problem
