VLCC Health care Vatika City Centre Sector 49 Gurgaon - VLCC not refunding the money

Sidharth B filed complaint against VLCC Health care Vatika City Centre Sector ** Gurgaon on May 14, 2023

This is regarding a fundamental refund issue I am facing as a customer with VLCC. I had come for a free consultation session on **th Feb **** at VLCC Vatika city market, Gurgaon sector ** at around * pm. During the appointment, my requirement was only for a PRP treatment for which I wanted a consultation but one of your doctors by name Dr. Ruchi, suggested I take Hgrow growth factor concentrate therapy and meeso scalp session costing about **,***(Sixty One Thousand Only). Please note that, I was not shown or told any hard facts or testimonials, or even the VLCC financial policies/refund policies or any sort of documents referring to overall and program(Therapy) details on that day. I was persuaded by Dr. Ruchi to enroll for the suggested sessions. I was also referred for a dandruff control therapy session which is not a part of above mentioned therapies. However, believing the oral representations made by Dr. Ruchi regarding the quality and care at VLCC I proceeded for the therapy and chose to go for Bajaj Finance EMI option for my payment for the above mentioned therapies (Hgrow growth factor concentrate therapy and a meeso scalp). After taking the dandruff control therapy session on the same day, I was billed for the dandruff control therapy session in the same bill as the Hgrow growth factor concentrate therapy and meeso scalp sessions which was billed from the Bajaj Finance EMI card including the Bajaj EMI card fees. The bill amount, as explained to me, Hgrow growth factor concentrate therapy and meeso scalp sessions was Rs. **,*** post discount, which would be treated in parts in * sessions and the dandruff control therapy (which was already performed on the same day) was Rs.*,***. I was told that I will receive a bill for the same through an SMS link, but no link or bill has been provided to me till date. However, to my surprise when I later researched more about VLCC and their services, I realized that VLCC had a bad reputation concerning their services as per many google reviews, consumer forums and news articles. Apart from this, there were many complaints from past customers about customer fraud that happened with them at VLCC. Furthermore, after taking second opinions I also realized that I was being charged a very high price for these sessions and I don’t have a requirement for * sessions for this therapy (* Hgrow growth factor concentrate therapy sessions and * meeso scalp sessions). Upon taking the same into consideration, I had written an email to VLCC customer support team (wecare@vlccwellness.com) on the same night (**th Feb, *:** am), requesting to cancel my enrollment for the above * treatments amounting to Rs **,*** and expressed my decision to not proceed with the treatment thereby requesting VLCC to cancel the bill with Bajaj Finance. I further consented to paying for the dandruff control therapy session which I had taken on **th Feb in cash. I went back to VLCC Vatika city market, Gurgaon sector ** the next day at around **:** PM and made my intentions clear that I want to cancel my enrollment and that I’m not willing to proceed with the treatment. There I was asked to reconsider if I wanted to go through with my enrollment where I had made it perfectly clear that I had no intentions of going through with the treatment and wanted to cancel my enrollment. Dr Ruchi said she will get back to me after * days. I also asked her for an acknowledgement letter for our discussion for which she refused and asked me to share it to the VLCC HR over email (sohna.hr@vlccwellness.com), which again was incorrect email address. I was contacted by the VLCC support team over email on **th Feb ****, telling me that they don’t have a refund policy and can provide me with a VLCC credit note or continue with the unexecuted program along with complimentary services or avail VLCC products of my choice. I replied to the email stating that I do not intend to avail ANY Services or Products from VLCC nor am I interested in their credit note and further clearly stated that I want to cancel my enrollment and need my refund by cancellation of the EMI scheme with Bajaj Finance which needs to be initiated from VLCC’s end . After a gap of *-* days Dr Ruchi called me to my mobile number and was trying to understand the reason why I don't want to enroll or even start off any treatments with VLCC. She again started persuading me to set up another round of consultation with another doctor. I made my consent very clear that it's a “NO” and further stated that I don't want any consultation and asked her not to set up another consultation and further requested her to close this financial part as soon as possible. Dr Ruchi mentioned that she will communicate my responses to the corporate office and mentioned that further she doesn't have any role in this now and easily washed her hands off. I was shocked, when I initially went for the consultation she literally showed a sense of doctor’s duty and once she got me convinced, she created a sense of urgency for conducting all the financial process in order to enroll me into these mentioned therapy sessions and as mentioned above persuaded me to resort to my financing options. I did not receive any resolution from the VLCC support team, hence I decided to tweet about the situation on Twitter. The follow up email went on till *nd March ****. Post my twitter tweet, the team responded to my email on *rd March **** stating the same as “no refund policy” with no referrals or evidence to the company policies. In the meanwhile I informed Bajaj Finance to cancel this loan but Bajaj finance stated that they wouldn’t be able to cancel it without a cancellation confirmation from the VLCC team. The last email response I received from VLCC after numerous emails, follow ups and tweets was on *rd March stating they are still working on my case. I am now forced to pay EMI to Bajaj Finance for the therapy which I am not availing. This is affecting my CIBIL SCORE and VLCC is not able to understand the consumer’s plight who politely reached out to them to address his consent and get the financial part close then end of the deal. Therefore, I request you to kindly cancel and refund my bill amounting to Rs.**,*** billed with Bajaj Finance for the services of which I have not availed, the failure of which I will be forced to enforce legal action at VLCC's cost and consequences.
