Reaching out to Voxya after months of stressful telephonic and email communication with Tata and Urs Kar officials, attempting to resolve issues with my one-year-old car. I'm writing to express my deep dissatisfaction and concern regarding the Tata Nexon XZ+ HS (Diesel) car purchased from Urs Kar dealership (Mysore) in September ****. Initially excited about owning a Nexon, my experience has been quite the opposite due to a series of recurring issues.
Firstly, the showroom representatives failed to inform me about the DPF(Diesel Particulate Filter) technology in the diesel variant and its auto/manual regeneration effort needed by the owner. They themselves lacked knowledge about the DPF technology, thus they failed to guide me. Adequate guidance would have led me to choose a petrol variant. The local driving conditions in Kodagu district demands frequent manual regeneration by the owner as it is hard to meet the required conditions for auto regeneration. This process requires about ** minutes of my precious time and extra fuel. Strangely, Tata regional officials in Bangalore placed blame on me, insisting I should have known about DPF technology before booking.
During the telephonic conversations with Tata and Urs Kar officials, I was informed that DPF regeneration occurs only every **** Kms. Unfortunately, with my car, pickup issues occurred frequently starting right from the *th month of purchase. During loss of pickup it was challenging for me drive the car especially during critical moments such as overtaking another vehicle, posing a fatal risk of accident.
Secondly, the car experienced a major breakdown on **.**.****. It was taken to Urs Kar service centre in Gonikoppal, where initially, a new engine replacement was decided by the manager, but only the replacement of fuel injectors was made. On **.**.****, another major breakdown occurred on the expressway near Bangalore. When inspected, there was fuel pouring all over the engine(attached photos) and generating fumes. This could have been fatal if it had caught fire. When asked for road side assistance, the service was provided after *.* hours of long wait under the hot sun, despite closest service centre being **Kms away.
What is even more frustrating is being blamed by Tata officials, alleging that faulty driving has caused this breakdown. With a decade of driving experience , I am wondering how can a driver cause fuel to spill all over the engine block? Wouldn’t this be because of a technical failure?. A simple guess could be faulty/loose injectors to have caused the spillage(for example).
With Urs Kar not being transparent about DPF issue, and multiple breakdowns within a year of purchase, I've lost confidence in driving this car, especially losing faith in this problematic engine. Reaching out to Urs Kar and Tata regional managers, I requested a complete refund, including taxes. If not, at least a new diesel engine installation from the factory. They rejected my request, only discussing fixing the car engine under warranty. We see a larger problem with the car engine. Additionally, the decision to replace the entire engine during the first breakdown raises questions. Fixing the same problematic engine several times under warranty does not instill confidence, especially in my hometown where the nearest service centre is a *-hour drive through uninhabited and tough road conditions.
The car is now repaired at Key Motors Bangalore, and I am forced to take delivery. I'm denying it and asking them to consider my request. Several phone calls and emails with Tata and Urs Kar officials have not provided a resolution. Being an independent woman with a two-year-old child, paying EMI and managing life without the car has increased my mental stress and affecting my daily life.
With this post, I am expecting the concerned Tata and Urs Kar officials to look into the matter and provide me a favorable resolution of this issue.
