I, Saransh Gautam, an experienced IT professional with ** years of service, enrolled in an online upskilling course offered by HeyCoach Edutech Pvt. Ltd., financed by an education loan facilitated by GyanDhan.
I submit this complaint against both HeyCoach and GyanDhan for unfair trade practices, deficiency in service, misrepresentation, and aggressive loan recovery despite unresolved disputes.
Timeline & Facts
• July **, ****: Signed an education loan agreement with GyanDhan for Rs. *,**,*** to enroll in HeyCoach’s course, which marketed itself as suitable for working professionals with NSDC certification.
• July **, ****: Provided verbal consent for loan disbursement; acknowledged loan repayment liability irrespective of course continuation.
• August ****: Enrolled in HeyCoach course, relying on promises of flexibility and suitability for employed learners.
• Late August ****: Discovered course workload was highly intensive and incompatible with my full-time job.
• Early September ****: Contacted HeyCoach requesting course withdrawal and refund due to genuine hardship; HeyCoach denied refund citing strict “no refund” policy.
• September ****: Forced to resign my job due to unmanageable course demands and consequent professional and financial stress.
• October *, ****: Sent formal demand for refund and withdrawal to HeyCoach; no positive response received.
• October *, ****: Received final denial from HeyCoach reiterating “no refund” policy and refusal of any withdrawal.
• October *, ****: Filed complaint with National Consumer Helpline.
• October **, ****: Filed RTI application with NSDC seeking official HeyCoach policies.
• October **, ****: Received RTI reply confirming HeyCoach is an NSDC-certified partner but NSDC neither monitors nor regulates HeyCoach’s refund and withdrawal policies, leaving full responsibility to the institute.
• August-November ****: Multiple correspondences with GyanDhan requesting EMI moratorium and loan restructuring; refused EMI suspension without No Objection Certificate (NoC) from HeyCoach, which HeyCoach refuses to provide.
• Current: Employed again but withholding EMI payments pending dispute resolution.
Grievances & Violations
*. Misrepresentation & Deficiency of Service:
• HeyCoach marketed the course as flexible and suitable for employed professionals.
• Actual service required full-time commitment, forcing me to quit my job.
• This is a classic case of misleading advertising, resulting in severe professional and financial harm.
