I purchased Galaxy Watch * smartwatch on loan EMI for my ** year old father who is a heart disease patient and who has been in the hospital twice in last * months, after reading about its Afib(irregular heartbeats) Alert and ECG recording features on its India website. After its was received I was shocked to realise that the product does not have those features. The company is refusing to take return and refund money saying they had written "may not be available in some countries" on their India website.
Samsung India is engaging in fraudulent act and misleading practice by selling Galaxy Watch * without Afib alert and ECG features which it had widely flaunted on its own India website. Heart patients who bought this watch as a result of this misleading tactic are blatantly scammed by Samsung India as it is refusing to take return of the product after customer is realising there is no such feature. Samsung India is selling this watch upwards of INR *****, with features worth less than INR ****.
If this feature was not available in India, why did Samsung widely publish the same in its India website and soft-market it by tom-toming about this feature with most tech media in India? Samsung India can't get away by writing "this feature may not be available in some countries" on its India website. If this was not available in India, the customers should have been made aware about it by unequivocally writing "this feature is not available in India".
This blatant fraudulent behaviour and misleading marketing practice needs to be punished by bringing it to task by the authorities. Although its not a medical device, many heart patients are buying this ONLY for this feature after falling prey to the misleading malpractices by Samsung India.
