Sukoon PG - Renter not giving deposit money

Me and my friend joined this PG in the end of January. I did not sign any agreement. We were asked **** rupees deposit which we would get back when we would leave. But now that we are leaving , they are not giving the deposit back. They said we need to say * month before leaving to get back the refund. But I can't remember any such thing being said to us. There was no written contract. I am a student who came to pune for an internship and barely make any money. That **** rupees is a lot for me. Now they are saying we won't get it back and i will have to go back as my * month intership is over. I have transaction proof that i have given all rent and deposit payment. Please help me out.
