Urbancouch in - Refund required for delayed delivery with no communication for 2 months

*.Placed the order for sofa on urbancouch.in on **th October and delivery was promised in ** days.
*. On chat at website, the response was that sofa will arrive by * November and even claimed that the sofa was already in Mumbai.
*. The sofa was supposed to arrive in time for Diwali ...and we also sold off our old sofa in Nov first week on OLX as in Mumbai flat we cannot have two sofas .
*. After Nov *, however, there was no communication at all. We tried to contact via website chat, phone number, mail , WhatsApp chat....but there was no response from their end from * November. All proofs available.
*. We had to make alternative arrangement for the sofa as we had no place to sit at home
*. We also raised a dispute on the payment made on our credit card.
*. On * Jan, Urbancouch.in has contacted us stating that sofa is now ready for delivery. The reason for non communication and delay is given as covid. But this is not acceptable. Being an e-commerce company, they could have contacted us through some channel....how can they expect customer to wait for over * months without any contact? There have been social media updates on thier channels - so why not a mail response to a customer who has paid fully for the purchase and is awaiting some update from your end? This is unethical, unprofessional behaviour.
*. They are not willing to process refund stating covid issue and that the sofa is a custom sofa. However, this is not fair to us. We need a refund as we were forced to make alternative arrangements after trying to contact them desparately with no response and we don't need the sofa anymore.
