Rs. ****.** was recovered from the students carrying studying books as excess luggage. As per Akasa luggage of ** Kg is allowed for students.
Tickets were booked giving the details of students but as per Akasa, the details of students were not captured as it was booked with a single PNR with parents. Later it was found that no functionality was developed on the website of Akasa to book student tickets with parents, which resulted in this issue with no fault of the passenger. This issue was informed to Akasa by email well in advance, but it was neither reply nor rectified. The delay in reply by Akasa and the non-active action from the backend resulted in this issue.
These technical glitches were brought to my notice by the boarding pass issue staff, and I was told to first pay Rs.****.** towards extra luggage of students as studying books and call to the helpline of Indigo for a refund. But when I called the helpline of Akasa, I was told you were late and should have called before issuing a boarding pass.
