Hi, we booked an IKEA kitchen on **th May **** and went for a finance option with HDFC. Also paid the installation and delivery charges of INR *****/- from my pocket.
IKEA has a policy of returning within *** days after purchase. We had change of plans and so we did not take delivery and cancelled by calling IKEA customer care on **th June ****. They acknowledged the call,
However the cancellation was not processed, so i called again on *th July **** (because my bank fined me bounce charges) and that is when i got to know that the case was not closed, then the other process started and i got the proof of refund on *th July ****.
By this time the bank (HDFC) decided to deduct my EMI and since i did not want to pay, they fined me with INR ***/- * times to a total of INR ****/-.
Did the cancellation go through? NO! I had to go all the way to IKEA as I got a litigation call from HDFC on **th July **** saying that I will be sued. When i went to IKEA on the **th July ****, the bank manager who is handling the finance had no clue about the process of cancellation till his junior notified him about the process.
The people at IKEA help desk said that the process from IKEA's side is done and the HDFC guys have to do the processing.
* week passed by no action. I get another call from HDFC. When i call the bank manager to check the status, he asked me to call ikea to get the URT numbe (ideally it should have been sent to him along with the proof of return) but i had to find out this UTR number, which i got from IKEA and sent it to him.
If i have to do all the process and still lose ** points on my CIBIL score this is very unfair.
Then i send mails to IKEA and HDFC, they only opened new tickets, made a couple of calls promising action will be taken, IKEA people even accepted it is totally their mistake and even said will give me store cred for the amount lost by bank charges. Then i get another mail from IKEA saying refund initiated. The HDFC manages says last stage. Nothing has changed Today is *th August **** and i get another bounce charge. I am the one going through trauma. I need compensation for all *****/- Plus the loss of my cibil score which would have helped me get better loans and or offers.

My two years of blood & sweat got valued finally with Voxya. I got a full refund with no hustle after they received notice.
