Motorola mobility India Pvt Ltd - Problem arises in Device after Company Software Update

I purchased a Motorola Edge ** Fusion smartphone for ₹**,*** a little over a year ago. Recently, after installing an official Motorola system update, the phone suddenly shut down during normal use and failed to boot. It now shows errors like “No bootable A/B slot” and “Failed to boot Linux,” making the device completely unusable.

I took it to the nearest authorized Motorola service center, where they examined it and said the motherboard is corrupted and needs to be replaced. They quoted around ₹**,*** for the repair and refused to fix it under warranty, saying my warranty had expired just a few months earlier.

This issue clearly occurred after a company-issued software update, which means it is a manufacturing or software fault — not user damage. I have faced mental distress and financial loss because a ₹**,*** smartphone has become useless in barely a year, and the company is demanding nearly the same amount for repair.

I request the consumer court to take action and direct Motorola to repair or replace my device free of cost or provide adequate compensation for the inconvenience and defective update that caused this issue.
