Subject: Grievance Against Travel Agent " Sikkim Tours and Travels" for Deficient Services, Harassment and Financial Exploitation
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the gross mismanagement and unethical practices we experienced during our tour package with travel agent "Sikkim Tours and Travels" (Package: North & East Sikkim, ₹**,*** for * pax). Travel date **th to **th March ****.
Despite paying the full amount upfront, we faced persistent issues that compromised our safety, convenience, and financial trust.
*Key Issues:*
*. *Food and Accommodation Confusion*
The itinerary explicitly included meals, but daily confusion arose regarding meal locations. Neither the driver nor the agency provided clear instructions either to us or to the hotel/restaurant.
The travel agent responded rudely to our complaints, exacerbating the situation.
*. *Unprofessional Cab Services*
The assigned driver was consistently *–* hours late daily, citing traffic but failing to adhere to agreed timings.
He used a non-smartphone with poor connectivity, severely hindering coordination. At Changu Lake, he abandoned us in heavy traffic without clear meeting instructions, leaving us stranded for over an hour leading to harassment.
*. *Unauthorized Additional Charges*
We were coerced into paying ₹***/person for "checkpost fees" at Zero Point (Lachung) and Gurudongmar Lake, despite permits being included in the package.
On the final day, the agent demanded ₹*,*** for "petrol", threatening us despite full payment of ₹**,***.
*. *Lack of Accountability*
The agent’s conduct was unprofessional, with dismissive, confusive and hostile communication throughout.
*Request for Action:*
We urge your office to:
* Investigate the agency for breach of contract and financial exploitation.
* Direct a refund for unauthorised charges for checkpost fees.
* Issue a warning/penalty to prevent such misconduct toward future tourists.
