Onlykittens.in - Pet shop sold me 2 dying kittens infected with FPV

I contacted onlykittens.in and purchased a pair of *-month-old Persian kittens. The seller was paid **,*** INR - **% advance through bank transfer and **% after delivery via cash. These kittens came with a guarantee that they were healthy and vaccinated. However, I soon found out that the seller had lied.

From the moment I picked up the kittens from the airport one started having diarrhea. I called the breeder and she said it probably travel stress so nothing to worry and that there is nothing wrong with them. By the next day, both kittens had diarrhea. I took them to the doctor who prescribed probiotics and recommended tests. Another day passed and they got sicker and stopped eating.

I took them to the vet hospital where they were diagnosed with Feline Parvovirus or FPV, the biggest killer of kittens that are unvaccinated. I gave my doctor the medical file sent by the breeder and it had a total of one vaccination record for both cats. The cats were given their first-lifetime vaccination a day before they were flown to me and no booster shot. The doctor declared these kittens had a very low chance of survival and I realized that kittens.in was a backyard breeder. I had been fooled by a fraudulent breeder and I fell for their scam.

But I gave it my best. Despite the best treatment money could buy these kittens spend the next few days vomiting and expelling blood and mucous from their body. I spent sleepless nights tending to them and although our home lease was ending and we were supposed to shift I could not do anything else except take care of them. Within a week or so both kittens had sadly passed. I called the breeder and informed her. She said it was my bad luck and that she sells thousands of cats so it cannot be her fault that I get kittens that were already sick. After that, she stopped taking my calls because I asked for a refund.

By this point, I had spent over * Lac INR on treating them and on their supplies which I had to throw away since they had FPV and which made all those things infectious for other pets. I am vegan because of my love for animals and this breeder’s cruelty towards her own has disgusted me. I was traumatized by what I saw those kittens go through and got so depressed I could not work for the next few months. One can expect an old pet to get sick and die but this was just devastating for me because they were kittens.

I went to post a review to their google page and lo and behold- someone has a similar problem and had given them a bad review as he received a kitten with FIP. After I posted mine as well instead of responding they deleted their google listing so no one can see the bad reviews. They had posted older pics of the kittens I bought on their social media pretending as though they were in their new home i.e. with me in Delhi. That’s when I realized they must be doing this to a lot of other people, fooling them with cute pics and selling them something else. A huge red flag should’ve been when the breeder never divulged her real name throughout our conversation but I trusted them like a fool.

I have lost a lot of money to them and they have caused me a lot of emotional trauma. I want them to be held morally accountable to the animals they are hiding behind the cute pics on social media.
