Uber connect - Package stolen by uber connect driver

I reserved an uber connect to have my (Lg tone free hbs-fn*u wireless earbuds) delivered from the reliance digital store located near select city walk mall , saket to my west Delhi residence.
A rider named Aman accepted the uber app request. The last * digits of the vehicle number as far as i can recall is
****.
I also spoke with the store's customer service agent, who assisted with handing over the said package to the rider.

The store customer care person called to confirm that he handed over the package to the rider after obtaining his mobile number and signature.

Suddenly, as I was checking the app to see where the driver was, he cancelled the ride and turned off the phone number he gave at the store and that’s when I realised that my package has been stolen.
This was not anticipated from a reputable firm like Uber, where riders are simply stealing stuff purchased with your hard-earned money.
I even tried reaching out to uber multiple times, but they gave me a pathetic response.
