I visited the MBA Chai Wala outlet in Bhagalpur and purchased a soft drink (FANTA) with a printed MRP of ₹**. However, I was forcefully charged ₹**, which is clearly a violation of the Legal Metrology Act, ****.
When I politely asked for a bill, the staff refused to provide one and became rude. Upon further raising the concern at National Consumer Helpline, I was publicly humiliated in front of other customers and forcefully asked to leave the premises.
Later, when I shared my experience on social media, I received threatening messages from the Instagram handle @mbachaiwala_bhagalpur, which appears to be their official page.
This incident involves:
Overpricing above MRP
Refusal to issue a bill (GST violation)
Public misbehavior and humiliation
Harassment after raising a genuine complaint
This is a clear violation of Consumer Protection Act, **** under Sections *(*), **, and ** regarding unfair trade practices, denial of consumer rights, and grievance redressal.
I am seeking:
A formal apology from the outlet
Proper billing practices
Strict legal action and penalty for violation of consumer rights
Please help me get justice and hold this outlet accountable for unethical practices.
