Dear Mercedes-Benz India Customer Care,
I am writing to bring to your attention a deeply distressing and infuriating experience I had at one of your authorized dealerships, Punjab Motors in Mohali, on the **th of August, ****. My name is Akshit Kumar, and I visited the showroom with a clear intention to inquire about and book an AMG GT **, a car worth over * crores. However, what I encountered was nothing short of a disgrace to the Mercedes-Benz brand.
Your sales representative, Mr. Imran Khan (contact number: +** ***** *****), demonstrated an appalling level of arrogance, rudeness, and sheer unprofessionalism that I have never before experienced in a luxury car showroom. Instead of treating me with the respect and courtesy one would expect from a representative of a prestigious brand like Mercedes-Benz, Mr. Khan had the audacity to question the legitimacy of my business and my financial capacity to purchase the car.
He outrightly demanded to know "what kind of business" I run before he would even consider providing me with the details of the car. He went as far as to condescendingly inquire why my catering business does not have a website, as if that were a prerequisite for purchasing a vehicle from Mercedes-Benz. The nerve of this individual to impose his personal judgments on me as a potential customer is beyond belief.
The most infuriating part of this encounter was when Mr. Khan brazenly declared that they would not deal with me because I do not have a website. Since when does Mercedes-Benz, a global luxury car brand, impose such irrelevant criteria on its customers? This is not just an insult to me but an insult to every hardworking individual who earns an honest living, regardless of whether they have a website or not.
I walked into your dealership ready to make a significant investment in a Mercedes-Benz vehicle, only to be treated like I was undeserving of your time and attention. I have ample funds in my account, more than sufficient to purchase the AMG GT ** outright, and yet, I was subjected to this humiliating and discriminatory behavior.
It is utterly disgraceful that an individual like Mr. Khan, with his narrow-minded and offensive attitude, is allowed to represent Mercedes-Benz in any capacity. This kind of behavior not only tarnishes the reputation of your dealership but also severely undermines the trust and respect customers like myself have in the Mercedes-Benz brand.
Due to this shocking experience, I am now seriously reconsidering my decision to purchase a Mercedes-Benz vehicle. I have been a proud owner of a Volvo and was strongly inclined towards upgrading to a Mercedes. However, given the treatment I received, I am now more inclined to take my business to BMW or Audi, where I am confident I will be treated with the respect and professionalism that I deserve.
I demand an immediate and thorough investigation into this matter. I expect a formal apology from both the dealership and Mr. Khan himself. Furthermore, I would like to know what concrete steps Mercedes-Benz India plans to take to ensure that no other customer is subjected to such degrading treatment in the future.
