Subject: Complaint Against Air India Express for Unresolved Refund and Misleading Itinerary

Complaint Description:

I booked a round-trip flight with Air India Express from Dubai (DXB) to Kannur (CNN) scheduled for July *th, ****. Unfortunately, the outbound flight (IX-***) was cancelled by Air India Express citing operational reasons. Subsequently, I requested a full refund of the booking amount, which they committed to process within * days.

Despite repeated follow-ups, Air India Express has not provided any confirmation or refund for the cancelled flight. Instead, on July **th, ****, Air India Express unilaterally issued a new itinerary for the return flight from Kannur to Dubai on September **th, ****, without my consent. This action appears to be an attempt to reduce the refund amount by applying a lower fare for the return journey.

Since I did not travel to Kannur, the return ticket issued is not usable. It is unjust for Air India Express to refund only the outbound leg of the journey and retain the inbound leg, especially when the cancellation was due to their operational issues.

The total amount paid for the booking was AED *,***.** ( INR ***,***.** based on the exchange rate of * AED = **.** INR). Despite my efforts to communicate directly with Air India Express, I have received only automated responses with no resolution to my refund request. This lack of response has caused significant financial and emotional distress, particularly during the peak travel season.

I request Voxya's intervention to help resolve this matter with Air India Express promptly. My primary objective is to obtain a full refund of the booking amount as per my original booking agreement.
