I had booked OLA from CSMIA (Mumbai International Airport T*) OLA Pickup Zone on June ** ****.
After the driver arrived, I gave him the OTP to start the ride. After the ride started I told the driver that in my app the ride status is not showing as started, he said that there could be the network issue and hence its not getting updated. After we exited the airport and when we were out on the road and also there was full signal coverage still my ride was showing as scheduled and no status update while the ride was already in progress. When I told the driver about the same, he said that may be some temporary issue from OLA servers, once he ends the ride it would get updated. I had no option then to believe him.
When we reached my destination, which is some * KMS from Mumbai International Airport he did something on his mobile and told me that the fare was INR ***. Now at this point also my ride status is still showing as scheduled, so I told him that the OLA App shows me the ride fare as INR *** and how come you are asking for INR ***. He said that there is some issue with your app and I don’t care, but my mobile shows INR *** and I need that fare.
Now when I tried multiple options like closing the app and restarting, even rebooting the phone yet the status of ride was showing as scheduled and not complete.
Also there was no way to connect with the OLA customer care on phone as there are no such option seen.
This guy refused to allow me to off load my luggage from the cars boot till I make the payment to him.
It was almost ** PM and me and my wife were tired from journey so I told him that I will pay you via UPI and not cash as I need some evidence of this payment to take up the matter with OLA cabs. After a long debate and argument he agreed to accept UPI payment and gave me a mobile number to make the payment. After this still my ride status was showing as scheduled and not as ended. As soon as I reached home I raised an email complaint to OLA grievance department and nodal desk screenshot of which is seen below. I got the acknowledgement from OLA cabs with ticket ID – *********
There was no update in the matter from OLA grivence nor nodal desk till June ** **** and that is when I sent another email to them mentioning that even after * days my ride in the app is showing as scheduled and nor there is any update from them in the matter.
I also sent the screenshot of my OLA App as on June ** **** in the email where the ride status was still shown as scheduled. On June ** **** I get an update on my ticket status as seen below by some Agent Prashant which is completely irrelevant and looks like a canned / standard scripted response mentioning we understand your concern regarding drivers behaviour and we will do the needful. But they are not even reading the full issue mentioned and just shoot back with standard replies. Finally after losing my patience on email follow up on June ** **** I call up the OLA grievance desk phone number and that day my ride status is changed to completed and they acknowledge my complaint on grievance desk. Here on call I was asked to send them the screenshot of the payment made to the driver via gpay as a screenshot to which I replied on the very same day. Finally after a loads of follow up I get a response from OLA support on July ** **** that they verified with the driver and it seems that the GPAY payment made Name doesnt match with the drivers name and the time of ride and time of payment doesnt match. Now to this I responded that if the driver gives me some number to make payment how do I deny to make payment. He wanted cash only but I insisted on Gpay so I have some record. And the time of payment and ride end had a difference of only ** minutes which was the time spent with driver in argument regarding the over charging. Now there is no response after so many email communications from OLA Support desk, nor escalation desks like grievances desk and Nodal desk. Here the matter is not of an small amount of INR *** but the fraud these drivers are doing.
