on *th April *.**pm i received a call from a person claiming that my airtel payment bank registration was incomplete. he later sent an otp to my number through the same adairapp address where all other app related messages come from. i merely shared this otp with the person and he was able to debit the entire amount in my account. i immediately launched a complaint against this with airtel customer care and was told that they would get back to me. i received a call from airtel side stating that there is nothing they can do in this matter and i should go raise an fir. i fail to understand how they are unable to track that number or provide any other information regarding the fraud transaction. The number is still active and receiving calls just not from me. they confirmed that transaction cannot happen without mpin. also, they told me that message which i received had nothing to do with airtel payment Bank it is for airtel app only. if there is such a huge loophole in their own app that a transaction was done without any mpin and a message was sent out from their address, they should be taking immediate action to rectify that instead of telling their customers to go to the police. despite two very unpleasant, harassing, excruciating,tiring and unhelpful conversations with their customer service representatives, i went to the local Police station in thane to register an fir. after hearing the case, they told me that airtel is entirely liable for my loss and even shared an rbi document highlighting the same. i attached that document for their reference. it clearly mentions that in the case of the banks negligence or even a third party fraud, the customer has zero liability and must be compensated within a time period of ten days. then, i got a call from their side and they explained me they can't do anything about it. i have already contacted them * times but still not getting any satisfactory response. they always keep on arguing that transaction cannot be done without mpin and are not ready to accept there fault. they also clearly stated that the process can't do anything and they don't care about any rbi document. i am completely mentally tortured and harassed fom this. i am a middle class student who is doing his internship in Bombay away from his home and i don't have enough money to pay my rent now and they are not returning my money. i am not at fault it's there fault or the third party. i want to request law to please look into this matter urgently and get me my money back as i have to pay my rent if i need a shelter on my head. this is a very urgent and pleading request. attached is the screenshot of the message.
