Motherhood Hospital Noida Sector 48 - Mistreatment from the Hospital Staff

This is to inform you about the pathetic services, including medical negligence which I received from Motherhood Hospital, Sector ** , Gautam Buddha Nagar , Noida. I admitted my wife as she was having labor pain on March ** , ****. Since this was a private Hospital, recommended by My Doctor , we expected professionalism , politeness and courtesy in handling patient issues. However the Hospital was lacking in these factors. Please find below the issues which I faced with the unprofessional behavior Hospital staff
*) The reception counter kept me waiting since I was not registered in the Hospital. As per him , he would give priority to the registered users as per the Hospital policy. He did registered me eventually , but only after some heated arguments.
*) My wife was in terrible pain but instead of allotting a room , or aligning with a doctor, the reception referred to doing paperwork. This took us more than ** min and then I was asked to carry my wife on foot to the room. They denied an attendant , or a wheelchair to her. They eventually provided some helper who took her to the room but only after another heated argument.
*) The Hospital staff was not courteous and polite. They kept passing orders without explaining the reason. I infact found that the Hospital was marketing / promoting some products and made them mandatory for the patients to use. When I asked about it , they kept arguing stating that they are doing this as per the Hospital policy.
*) After the baby was delivered , they kept the baby in the NICU , and asked me to purchase a complete baby kit and Silicon Palada. They refused to provide the detailed list of baby kits and forced me to purchase the complete baby kit. We had another heated argument and they again said that they are doing this as per the hospital policy. They refuse to give me in writing that this is as per the hospital policy.
*) I was denied holding my baby for hygiene reasons, however they kept the new born baby on an unsensitized cradle without any blanket and asked the attendant to take the baby to my room. As soon as the baby came out of the room in the open without , she started shivering. I immediately picked the baby , rushed to the room , holding close to me to provide warmth.
*) The Mother was still wearing the gown from the Operation theatre and I could see several stains on the cloth. They asked to feed the baby without proper sanitization.
*) The cradle was not sanitized , the room had no sanitizers , the baby was handled by the staff without proper sanitization.
*) It was the duty of the Hospital staff to clean the baby diaper but she was not cleaned properly and finally , we had to start cleaning and changing the baby diapers ourselves.
*) The complete procedure cost around Rs.*****/- however the hospital provided us with a bill of around *.** Lakhs. I had to purchase extra medicine of around Rs.*****/- . Even after paying so much extra , the Hospital did not take proper care.
*) Although the baby was born Healthy, still a pediatrician kept visiting the baby twice a day and charged Rs.***/- per visit. I was informed that the visit is mandatory even though the baby is healthy. I had to pay Rs.****/- in total for the visit. Even though the baby was healthy , the Hospital charged us Rs.*****/- for treating a healthy baby and they refused to cover this in insurance as the baby was healthy.
*) I reported several incidents to the Managements on the very day , but the Management refused to acknowledge them , instead kept ignoring my issues. They waited for the day when my wife was getting discharged and then started pacifying. They neither provided any compensation or any apology for the lack of good services.
**) Once we were getting discharged, I had to walk my wife out of the hospital and she was again not given any attendant who could carry her out.
**) I checked with other patients in the Hospital too. And most of them were facing similar mistreatments from the Hospital. However most of them did not raised the issue. If the issue was raised , the hospital Management refused to make it official and pacified the users.
**) Even the Government Hospitals are far better as issues raised are registered and handled properly but in this Hospital there was no proper channel to register a complaint or follow the complaint.
I need Action to be taken against the Hospital for mishandling the patients. They have not improved the service even after I raised the issue, instead they kept humiliating me by ignoring My wife and our issues.
