Asmita Sarkar - Make Up Artist Not Adjusting the Advance Amount Paid for my Marriage Reception ceremony that has bee

On **th Aug **** I have approached a make up artist to book for a make up assignment for my marriage reception that would happen on *th Feb ****.
After discussing with my sister, one package was finalized and advance amount of ₹****/- was paid to make up artist via UPI on **th August ****.
Upon receipt, she confirmed the booking for *th Feb ****.
Suddenly due to Omicron outbreak the Govt. of WB announced a lockdown on *nd Jan **** and gatherings have been restricted to ** people only.
As my marriage was due within one month of that date and the inivitee list consisted of around *** people, we decided to postpone this program and the same has been conveyed to the make up artist during mid January over a call.
On **st January ****, as the situation improved, and restrictions were loosened, the make up artist approached my sister and asked if we are still going with the cancellation as the situation was getting normal - to which my sister again confirmed the the program stands cancelled and it would be done on a small scale with family members only (as we had no time to re-arrange everything again for *** people). My sister also informed her that this pending program will happen again and we would let her know when it happens.
Cut to *th Jan ****, as we have decided to held the pending marriage reception on my * year anniversary on *th Feb ****, my sister has called the same make up artist but her phone was switched off. She has texted her over whatsapp, to which the make up artist has informed that she is out of India and would return on **th Jan ****.
On **th Jan ****, my sister had a conversation with her over phone and asked her to do the make up for the *th Feb **** anniversary reception program.
On **th Jan she has given her new rates over whatsapp. Then my sister has asked her about the amount we need to pay after adjusting the advance amount. To this she has responded that she can give a discount of only ₹****/- and not more than that as the advance amount of ₹****/- was paid long back on **th Jan ****.
So, my question is was it wrong from our part to make an adavance booking on **th Aug **** for a program that would happen on *th Feb ****?
On what basis she is quoting the advance amount payment date as the justification of not adjusting it for the program that would happen on exactly * year after the actual date?
When we have informed her about the postponment of the actual program on Jan ****, she never quoted any refund/adjustment policy, now suddenly when we have approached her again within one year, on basis of which policy she is justifying the non-adjustment of the advance amount? as a discount ₹****/- is nothing compared to the advance amount of ₹****/- !!
In addition, nobody wants to postpone his/her marriage reception. In my case, I was the victim of the situation and looks like this oppurtinity has been utilised by the make up artist.
