I, had entrusted my laptop IdeaPad * **IAU* (Model: PF****KL) to your service center on ** August **** for resolution of flickering and display issues.
At the time of submission to Ms. Ahaana, I was expressly informed that diagnosis charges would be ₹*** plus applicable taxes. I made it abundantly clear that I would only authorize the repair if the cost was reasonable and not close to the replacement value of the laptop. Despite this, after diagnosis, Ms. Ahaana asserted that only the display panel, EDP cable, and camera required replacement — and no other component would be affected.
Subsequently, on ** August ****, I was told there were delays in procuring the parts and was repeatedly instructed to “wait.” On ** August ****, I was suddenly asked to pay ₹**,***/- towards diagnosis, parts (display panel & EDP cable), and labour charges. I reiterated my hesitation given the mounting cost, but Ms. Ahaana categorically assured me that there was no cause for concern as she assured me verbally that there would be no further cost involved once the parts are reinstalled and repaired without any delay. She even convinced me that she will remove purchased parts if the laptop issue is not resolved with new parts. This will allow me invest in new laptop instead of spending similar amount on repair.
Acting in good faith and relying on your assurances, I made payment totaling ₹**,***/- on ** August **** in two GPay transactions to HRK TEC-SERV PRIVATE LIMITED (Mobile No.: **********), with the balance amount of ₹*** to be paid at the time of delivery. I was explicitly promised a *-day turnaround.
On ** September ****, Ms. Ahaana then asked whether data on the laptop could be overwritten. I made it explicitly clear that no data loss or data formatting was permitted under any circumstances, as the laptop contains critical information stored on a *** GB SSD, and I had not backed it up due to its size.
Since then, despite my consistent follow-ups, there has been absolutely no response. She now claim that the laptop is not functioning properly after installing display panel and EDP cable. According to them, there is a need to check motherboard and its restoration.
As of today, ** October ****, over two months have elapsed — the laptop has neither been repaired nor returned to me. Instead, repeated empty assurances were given, such as “our sir will update you” since ** October ****, yet no update, no call, no accountability whatsoever has been shown.
Upon visiting your centre before Diwali, matters worsened — my laptop was not available for handover, no responsible authority was present or willing to speak, and then I asked Ms. Ahaana to share the contact details of the concerned “sir” who supposedly had all information and authority but she did not bothered to share. Keeping me in standby mode.
My grievances:
(a) defective/unsatisfactory diagnosis;
(b) prolonged delay and non-communication;
(c) risk and actual/possible loss of data and resultant harassment.
Their conduct has been grossly negligent, irresponsible, and utterly unprofessional — demonstrating clear deficiency in service, unfair trade practice, complete disregard for consumer rights, and a casual, indifferent attitude towards loss of my laptop and its data.
Relief sought within * days from receipt of this notice:
*.Full refund of ₹ **,***/- (paid on ** Aug ****).
*.Compensation for harassment, mental agony and loss of use if they do not return my laptop in original condition (without loss of data) within * week from the notice date
*.Interest at *% p.a. on refundable amounts from ** Aug ****
*.Costs of this notice and future litigation
*.Payment for professional data recovery or reimbursement if data is found lost and is irretrievable
