Nidhi Kalani filed complaint against Lenovo on Apr 11, 2021
Due to COVID when all the education institute went online, my family put a lot of my savings to purchase a laptop for my studies. I brought Lenovo Ideapad in August ****. Within few days of the purchase, I realized that the front camera of the laptop was not working. I logged the complaint at Lenovo. After checking the internal system online where they couldn't find any issue, they sent an engineer to see my laptop. An engineer came from the Vishakapuri Kanpur Lenovo branch. As mentioned earlier, the issue was with the front camera but the technician damaged the laptop's motherboard and daughterboard. As per his words, which I have in recording, both of these main parts were damaged by him in the process of checking the laptop. I asked the Lenovo team back then for a replacement as the motherboard and daughterboard are the main parts of a computer system. Once they get disrupted, it's difficult to trust the working of a system. Moreover, it wasn't even my fault at any point for any of the issues with the laptop. But they didn't agree and in few days they just the motherboard. After few months again, I started having the issue and they again replaced the motherboard.
I am from a middle-class family who have put my entire saving in this laptop which stops working properly again and again. Currently, Lenovo agrees to change my laptop's motherboard every time I lodge a complaint because right now my laptop is under warranty and they know that this is spoiled because of the engineer's careless attitude.
After all the problems, I mailed the customer care of Lenovo, asking for the replacement of the damaged piece. But they declined my request saying that it does not qualify DOA conditions, which they haven't explained, what they meant by this till this date.
Now, again I am facing the same issue because of which the motherboard got replaced a second time. I have lodged the complaint again today on **-**-****. Its e-ticket number is **********.
I do not wish to have the motherboard replaced again, I want to replace this system. It is damaged by the reckless attitude of the Lenovo technician. They should take the onus of it and help their customer rather than making them suffer. This damage had cost me a lot. Every time this laptop has an issue, it takes at least a week to get fixed. Meanwhile, my entire studies suffer. If the time has no cost for Lenovo then it's a question of their professionalism. But I will be grateful if the consumer form can help me in getting the laptop replaced or help me get appropriate compensation in lieu of my damage. Hoping for help and support.
