DELL 5000 - Keyboard letters not working

Dell Inspiron ** **** model keyboard letters stopped working from the *nd month of purchase. Its been almost * months, still its been not replaced and requesting me to compensate with without backlit keyboard. I even requested them to replace with a new laptop and they told they will talk to higher authority but still there's been no response
