kelasa co in - Kelasa hiring scam

I paid ₹*,*** to Kelasa (kelasa.co.in) on *th May **** for job hunting/placement services. This condition was never disclosed before payment was made.
After payment, the representative began demanding that I submit my own BGV (Background Verification) report before they could proceed further with any job placement. This condition was never disclosed before payment was made. This is a fraudulent demand — BGV is always initiated and paid for by the hiring company, never by the candidate. No legitimate recruiter or placement firm asks a candidate to arrange or submit their own BGV report. This appears to be either a data harvesting tactic or a pretext to extract additional money.
Additionally, the company sent me a fake job opening falsely claiming it was from Boston Consulting Group (BCG) — sent from their own email talentacquisition@kelasa.co.in, not from BCG directly. BCG does not hire through third party consultancies for senior roles, and the job description itself was inconsistent with BCG's actual business structure.
They also shared another candidate's confidential KPMG BGV report without that person's knowledge or consent — a serious data privacy violation.
When I requested a refund, the representative verbally agreed and asked me to send a formal email. In his written response, he confirmed the refund as a "mutual exception" but delayed it to September **** — approximately * months away — with no firm commitment.
When I pushed back on the timeline, he sent a threatening email stating they would revert to original terms if I escalated, and would pursue legal action against me. He then called me and verbally threatened to blacklist my profile across companies, take legal action, and mentioned coming to Gurgaon. He also offered to hand over cash in person — clearly to avoid any paper trail.
