Ramachandran filed complaint against HP Gas on Dec 31, 2020
M/s Sai Gas agencies, authorised dealer of hp gas company situated at Ernakulam city is charging extra delivery charges of Rs ** per cylinder, even though customers residence is situated within radius distance of * km, in ernakulam city.
As per govt instructions they can charge Rs ** extra per cylinder if the office of the dealer is situated more than * km radius distance from the customers residence. i am situated within radius distance of * km, but actual distance by road may be more than *km. In cities always actual distance by road will be more than radius distance, due to traffic issues and others. That is the reason why govt is using the word radius distance. Same is the case for Govt employees. for stay in local area, conveyance charge etc, Govt is clarifying as within a radius distance of *km. For Govt distance means, radius distance, otherwise in cities, due to one way and others actual distance will be always higher.
i had taken up this with HP company through their complaint system and the company has replied that as the "distance is more than * km" the extra charges of rs ** is in order. They have not mentioned as radius distance or actual distance. i had taken up this point again and again, but thereafter company is not replying.
Actually i took this connection when the sai gas agency was situated at MG Road,Ernakulam ,just *** meters from my residence. Later they shifted their office to Themmanam, which is situated in ernakulam city itself, to save rent. It is around * KM radius distance from my house and now they are charging extra Rs ** per cylinder. It has to be noted that this issue started, when the agency shifted their office, which is not a mistake of mine.
The news paper publication is attached as a link. According to that the company can charge only if the radius distance is more than * km radius distance. I took up this matter with the District collector, ernakulam. They have replied that they have forwarded to Taluk Supply Officer. Thereafter no reply from them
