goibibo Spicejet - goibibo and SpiceJet did not inform us about flight cancellation

We booked * tickets on the SpiceJet Flight SG-**** from Ayodhya to Delhi on **th October **** through goibibo. We tried to web check-in for the flight multiple times but it always failed. We grew suspicious and contacted goibibo to inquire about the flight status and were told that the flight was still scheduled. We made our way to the airport and found others who had arrived for the same flight, we never received a message from SpiceJet or goibibo informing us of the cancellation. We only found out about this after talking to a SpiceJet employee at the airport. This forced us to stay overnight in a hotel, pay for food, and miss a weekday which meant missing school or work for the people involved and disrupted further travel plans for some as well. It was also a huge disruption for our overall trip and has affected us mentally as we never expected such a scenario to occur on our pilgrimage. goibibo support is not reachable through their Customer Support number, and has also marked the booked flights as completed.
