At **.**am, First my mother received an SMS from Mobile No. ****** *****, stating “PAYTM KYC has been suspended. Pls call Paytm office ********** immediately. Account will block within ** hours.”.
Fraudster called my mother from Mobile No. ********** around *pm. Fraudster said he is calling from Paytm - to renew her KYC. He made her write Paytm Quick Support on Playstore and she unknowingly was forced to install Teamviewer quick support. She even disconnected the call saying she is not comfortable giving any details. He called her back and insisted that her PAYTM wallet will be suspended if she doesn’t follow his steps. As her PAYTM had more than**k INR, she hesitantly agreed to proceed. Once teamviewer was downloaded, then he asked her to login into PAYTM app. Then he asked her to pay Rs. * from her debit card into her PayTM wallet as confirmation for KYC.
I think he then had all her debit card details and debited her HDFC bank account for an Amount of Rs. **,*** via * transactions on Mobikwik between *.**pm to *.**pm on **th July. Kindly help urgently. We require the money back.
