I am a new tenant at Stanza Co-living, Springfield House, Pallavaram, Chennai. I shifted here on **th April, ****. My point of contact Mr David (**********) did not inform me before shifting that there is smart meter installed for each of the rooms and the tenant needs to recharge the smart meter to use AC and Geyser. Since *th April, ****, I have used the AC barely two times and it was not working fine also. After the AC was fixed, when I planned to use the same that day, the smart meter for my room was already having a negative balance. The property manager Mr Sasi (**********) informed that you need to recharge your smart meter to use the AC. After recharging for ₹***, the negative balance got nullified (for my personal usage) and I had balance of ₹*** remaining. Since my roommate still has a negative balance of ₹***, I was unable to use the AC as the meter is still in negative. Now, since nearly * days, the AC has not worked at all and I have not used the AC or even the geyser (geyser not used since the day I entered this PG). Still, the Stanza app shows consumption for these nearly * days when I did not use the AC at all. The appliance is just not working, the meter balance is negative which restricts the power supply but my property manager is saying that you have consumed electricity so it will reflect. What logic is this? When the meter is negative and power is cut off, how can they show consumption? The meter is faulty for sure. Nobody is replying. The property manager is asking me to raise a ticket on the app but I cannot raise one. He is saying probably you used AC whereas I barely slept in the last * days since AC is not working and it is so hot. The POC Mr David is not responding to my calls or msgs. What should I do? Why should I pay unnecessarily when I have not even used the AC!
