I am writing to bring to your attention a deeply distressing incident that occurred with my mother during her recent visit to your hospital for a sugar test. Regrettably, her experience with one of your lab technicians was far from satisfactory and has compelled me to lodge this formal complaint.
On ** july ****, at approximately *.** Am, she arrived at the hospital to undergo a routine sugar test prescribed by my physician. The reception staff guided her to the laboratory section on *st floor room number *** where she encountered an old lab technician who was responsible for administering the test.
From the outset, the lab technician exhibited unprofessional behavior. Firstly, they appeared disinterested and unwilling to address my mother’s queries regarding the procedure then after many requests he was ready to do the test. I understand that medical professionals can be busy, but a little courtesy and empathy go a long way in making patients feel at ease. One of the helper was sitting outside the room he was also speaking abusive words to patients.
The situation worsened during the test itself. The lab technician not only spoke rudely, throw the token but also used inappropriate language, which was utterly disrespectful and offensive. I believe that patients deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of the circumstances.
To my utmost dismay, the lab technician fumbled with the collection token and threw it in a careless manner, as if my presence and time were of little consequence. Such actions not only undermine the confidence of the patient but also reflect poorly on the hospital's commitment to providing quality healthcare.
As a patient, I have the right to a safe and comfortable environment during my hospital visits. The conduct displayed by the lab technician not only left me emotionally distressed but also raised concerns about the overall professionalism and ethics maintained within your institution.
I firmly believe that it is essential for the hospital management to address these issues promptly and take appropriate corrective action. I request a thorough investigation into the incident to prevent such unfortunate events from occurring in the future. Additionally, I expect to be informed of the steps taken to address the matter and ensure that proper training is provided to the staff to uphold patient-centered values and behaviors.
I understand that your hospital has a reputation for providing exceptional healthcare services, and I sincerely hope that this complaint will be taken seriously and acted upon in a manner that upholds the values of your institution.
