State Bank Of India - cheques dishonored even while having sufficient money

My cheque was dishonored even while having the sufficient balance in the account the bank officials didn't even bother to just give a call I received a message later that cheque was dishonored due to insufficient balance in the account but as I can see from the statement the balance was there while the time they have deducted the penalty charges...this has resulted me getting delayed possession of the house for which payment had to be made
