Continental tyre - Cheating

I, Leslie Zac Thomas, purchased an **-inch Continental tyre from an authorized dealer of Continental Tyres India. While driving under normal conditions, the tyre burst after hitting a stone. As I did not have a spare tyre at the time, I was forced to patch it and continue my journey in an unsafe condition.

At the time of purchase, I was clearly informed that the tyre carried a *-year warranty. However, when I approached the dealer for a warranty claim, I was told I would have to bear **% of the cost. Later, both verbally and via email, I was informed that the claim was rejected citing “external impact.”

No clear written terms, exclusions, or conditions regarding the warranty were explained or provided to me at the time of purchase. This constitutes a serious failure in disclosure and consumer rights. Moreover, the dealer behaved arrogantly and unprofessionally, showing no responsibility or willingness to support a genuine concern.

Worse still, the dealer boasted that he has enough money and influence to act as he pleases, including ignoring legitimate customer complaints. Such statements not only reflect an abuse of power but raise questions about the dealer’s eligibility to continue operating under the Continental brand.

When I reached out to Continental Tyres India, I was told that the issue did not stem from a manufacturing defect and that the blame lay entirely with me—a conclusion I strongly dispute.

This entire experience has caused mental distress, financial loss, and serious safety concerns. Therefore, I seek compensation of ₹*,**,***, along with the replacement of the defective tyre.

I humbly request that the Hon’ble Forum intervene in this matter and take appropriate action in accordance with the law, ensuring that justice is served and such negligent practices are curbed.
