Club Mahindra holidays and resorts India - Cheating or Extorting

During our vacation to Khanna – Madhya Pradesh, the team from Club Mahindra in the pretext of seeking my resort experience tried to upgrade my membership to “Purple *BR from Red *BR”. Since I did not want to hurry up, I had made a request that I am ready for the initial upgrade fees, as I was promised that I will get to understand the fine details of the upgrade and proceed further, if in case I am not interested the money paid will be refunded or I can use it for ASF.(This was mentioned during my conversation with the sales person. All I get to see is an email saying that I have opted for an upgrade and will not be able to downgrade)
This is unacceptable and cheating/extorting customers. 
Club Mahindra completely understands and accepts the inconvenience caused to me. But are harassing me to pay the Purple Membership Fees (* Lakhs) and threatening me to cancel my previous membership itself. Club Mahindra was the one who came to seek feedback on my resort experience and trapped me into this  problem and this is causing more stress on me. Also there is no rule that Club Mahindra can try and ask me to upgrade, as a customer I have all the rights and entitled to say that I am not willing to accept any up-gradation and decline. As a customer I never even got a chance to see any documents that talks about the upgrade benefits or any other details related to upgrading my membership.
Request Voxya to intervene and make sure Club Mahindra arranges for a refund and continue my previous membership without any problems, and also make sure Club Mahindra stops cheating people and have proper & thorough documentation for the customers to not to fall into cheap tricks and traps and extort money from its customer.
