The Oppo F*S used by my wife was having many cracks on the display portion and I had advised her to get the display changed. Her mobile was perfectly in working condition including the sound and everything except the display was bit cracked in a few places.
She went to this mobile shop at Bhandup West for the first time on **th May **** at around **.** AM.
On informing her mobile issue the person in the counter checked the same including the owner and was told that she will have to leave the mobile so that they can carry the mobile to another place and get the replacement for the display. My wife informed that she cannot keep the mobile to which they noted the mobile model and details as well as took a token amount of Rs.*** as per receipt attached. They asked her to contact or await call the same evening or the next morning when the technician will be available.
The next morning on **th May ****, Saturday at about ** AM my wife called the shop and was told that the display part had been bought and that the technician will come at about **.** which they called again and asked my wife to come to the shop.
My wife reached the shop at around **.** noon and on giving the mobile was made to wait for about ** minutes. Subsequently, they told that the display was done and after inserting the sim cards they found that the sound was not functional. The sound and all parameters were in top working condition prior to giving them the mobile. Again they checked the problem and took another ** minutes but were unable to sort the new problem. The technician informed that the sound strip/ accessory was damaged while placing the display and that he would get a new replacement by evening and give the mobile after completion. My wife contacted me to check whether she can leave the mobile to which I told not to leave it.
So she took back the mobile and we both again visited the shop in the evening at around * pm. The technician and a couple of other personnel requested us to leave the mobile and that they would sort the problems and give it the next day. This time I agreed with them and we left the mobile and the sim cards with them.
The next morning, **th May ****, Sunday, the shop personnel came to our house in the afternoon and gave us a spare mobile as he was not able to solve the problem. Just to inform please note that **th, **th and **th May were the day's religious rituals were being performed for my late mother at our house with the desperate need of the mobile for my wife.
He requested us to wait little more and that he would make it ready the next day, Monday.
The next day Monday **th May ****, the shop personnel came to my office in the afternoon when I had reached after * pm after the completion of the ritual at home. Again he cut a sorry face and requested time till late evening and that he will get the mobile home after repairing it fully to which I had to agree. But neither did they come at night to give the mobile nor did they even call me and inform anything.
I was really upset and angry at their callousness and giving us torrid time since the past * days I promptly called a mobile number on the visiting card which belonged to that of the senior owner who claimed he had two more shops in Powai and he promised to look into it and call me right away which he did and told me that the next morning by ** AM I will have the mobile all well and I would be satisfied with the service and will not be upset again. I had to keep my cool and accept to wait until the next day.
**th May ****, Tuesday, one of the shop's personnel came to our house late afternoon with the mobile and after trying to insert the sim he again found that it was not working and once again pleaded to take the mobile with him and get it corrected and then bring it.
I had no choice after all but to agree.
On **th May, Wednesday yet again they did not bother to contact us or make any effort to give us relief and I had to call him in the evening and had to demand them to bring the mobile fully functional by night and much to our surprise he came at about *.** Pm and with little confidence assured me that it was ok now. He just made a local call to make me hear the sound from the opposite end and also my sound from the other mobile but we had forgotten to check the audio files and video filed and also ring tone etc which were all not working as we found a little later after our dinner. Also most importantly we were shocked to find that the display was already cracked and it was some very cheap material that they had rushed up to deliver our mobile. I immediately called the shop to ask them what the matter was and why the sound was not functional and why the display was gone within ** minutes. The shop personnel tried to give some illogical reasoning and the shop owner meanwhile was heard shouting at the personnel that the repair given was for display and why they have to look at sound problem etc. All this I could understand was they wanted to wash the hands as I had just given them the balance amount of Rs. **** believing them to have done justice with us for all our trust faith, patience and belief. I was very upset and angry and immediately told him that I will visit his shop right now and demand an answer for the cheating that they did with us and after getting the money their attitude and behaviour had changed to a bullish and care a damn one.
I reached the shop with my wife and had to yell at them for all the trauma and anguish they gave us for the past * days and having cheated us big time with parts mischief and also unacceptable workmanship and a total loss of our instrument and the loss of time and money and our own frustration due to inability to contact few family personnel at the time of the * day ritual for my late mother.
My anguish is that such dishonest retail service providers and many others know that justice takes years and no harm can come to them and they continue their cheating s unabated and fearlessly.
I am really hopeful and prayerful for justice as this is not the first time we have been exploited and cheated badly but since I came across this portal for such complaints I take this opportunity to appeal and pray for strong action against such dishonest and fraudulent service providers and make them aware that they cannot take the consumers lightly and must back and respect their faith time and money with assured quality service and timely return without any kind of harassment or mischief.
