My Internet service customer ID is **********. On June **, ****, I called Hathway customer service and informed them that I am cancelling my service effective July *st because I have switched to a different service provider. I also informed them that they should come to my home and collect the modem because I am not well and cannot go to the nearby Hathway office. I was provided with request ID W****** and was promised that my services are cancelled and no new bill will be generated. However Hathway generated a new bill and did not cancel my service.
I called Hathway on July **th to understand why and was informed that my previous request was cancelled because billing department could not reach me so the service is still active and the bill is due. Upon disputing my call was disconnected deliberately by the agent.
I Sent an email to Hathway Nodal officer on July **th at mumnodal@hathway.net and they responded that they routed the escalation for resolution to the billing team. After that, every week I started receiving calls for payment.
On Sep **th Hathway sent me a message saying if I do not pay Rs *** on Sep **th then they will generate a new bill and transfer this case to legal department.
I have not been using the broadband service since June **th and hence there cannot be any outstanding balance in my account. My billing cycle is from *st of every month and I made my payment for June usage on June **th in the amount of Rs ***.
Therefore, The current due amount claimed by Hathway is invalid. Kindly look into this case and respond on priority. Thank you.
I stopped using Hathway service from June **th and would request you to intervene to ensure service cancellation with no payment due.
