Livspace - Booking Fee not refunded

In its current state, even the Livspace team we are working with has realized that they have gone into unchartered territories by committing to a project where they were going to act as a contractor with no interior design, catalog items, or modular work.

Even in this scenario, the team is not refunding our booking amount of Rs. *,**,***

I am documenting the timeline of events which will make it clear how the Livspace team acted unethically to block our money and play us into paying more than **% of the initial project cost.

* We (Me and Wife) went to Livespace Experience Center (Runwal Galleria) somewhere around **th Aug ****. At this point, we had already selected our interior designer and had our furniture layout ready.

* On **th Aug, we received a quotation of Rs. *******. Our interior designer (and everyone else we enquired with) gave us a quotation of **+ lacs, while Live Space gave a quotation of ** lacs, including the GST.

* Following * days, Livspace offered multiple discounts (bringing down the quotation further to **,**,***) and created a sense of urgency to make us pay a hefty booking amount of Rs.*.**,*** (**%) on the night of ** Aug ****. While Livspave policy says that **% is needed to start interior design work, there was no interior work done to be Livspace, while they could have taken a smaller amount to confirm a project, they took the whole **% and did no material work for the next * months.

* They agreed to almost everything to what we had to say, extra discounts, retention amounts, no catalog items, no modular work and merely acting as a contractor for interior design. Livspace team went on a call with our designer and accepted their quality standards and acceptance criteria.

* We even clarified and re-clarified with the livspace team that they are ok with such an arrangement to act as mere contractors and no design work. and they were all ready.

* In October, we realized that our quotation did not discount anything for interior design fees which is the whole chunk of work we had outsourced to another firm.

* Instead of just giving an amount X towards the design fees, they again added some more discount in their sheet to consider for designing fees, they said that because Livspace doesn't do such kinds of projects they don't have separate design fees, at this point we again confirmed with them, if they want to continue in this mode or we were ok to call off the project.

* They still agreed to everything, and this time we asked them to give us the final quotation as our first version of *D and *D designs were ready. The Livspace team gave a quotation that was more than **L a whopping **% increase from than initial quote.

* At this point the inevitable blame game started happening, the Livspace team saying our design partner added details that increased the cost, while my interior designer's quotation always remained the same, Livspace jumped by **%

* As the Livspace team was not able to continue this project with the original estimate of **L, they agreed to call this project off. but to our surprise, they started forcing us into buying some or other services from livspace which we now don't need at all.
