I purchased a premium quality Bluetooth headset, Boat Nirvana **** ANC, from www.boat-lifestyle.com. The MRP of this product was Rs.***** and I bought it for an offer price of Rs.**** on **/**/****. After a few months of usage, both the ear cushion pads got damaged and became uncomfortable to use. Being in the warranty period, I registered a complaint on **th February **** (ticket no: *******) to repair/replace it and as per their procedure, I returned the product. Once they received the product at their end, an executive called me and offered to replace the product with a much cheaper one as my product is out of stock. I rejected that offer and requested to send back my product repaired or replaced with a new Nirvana **** ANC itself. Even though they agreed to it, they sent a cheaper product, Nirvana *** ANC which was available to purchase for less than Rs.****. I registered another complaint on **th March **** (ticket no: ********) and returned it as their executive admitted it was their mistake to send the wrong product. Since then, I have been following up on the status.
It has been more than * months now and I have not received my product. I contacted them several times via phone and email and they were not giving any proper reply. I even requested to send back my product unrepaired. Each time they said the product was out of stock and asked to wait for ** hours but never replied back. Later I came to know that they were giving fake information because the product has been discontinued. I was very disappointed as I lost my money and the product. I had spent many hours calling them and writing emails. But I have been cheated by this company. They sold a product that cannot be repaired and is no longer available for replacement. They offered a *-year warranty knowing that it cannot be fulfilled. I bought this premium quality product since my work demanded it. Another reason I opted Boat over other brands is that it is an Indian company. But it is very disappointing that this company is cheating their customers.
Then I decided to move legally and as a first step, I registered a complaint on www.consumerhelpline.gov.in on **th May ****. Grievance Number is *******. After several communications, they are still offering a cheaper product or a refund of **%. The product they are offering is Boat ANC *** which is available for Rs.****. And the refund value is just Rs.**** (**% of Rs.**** I originally paid). I cannot accept these offers as the depreciation in value is huge. By offering a refund which is equal to the price of the alternate product they are offering, they are forcing me to accept either of these. I demand a full refund or to get my product back along with compensation for the mental agony and inconvenience I suffered. The NCH Agent has now suggested approaching the Consumer Commission. I am advised to register a complaint in edaakhil.nic.in or in consumer court. Then I came to know about this platform hence I am here to request help. Since I am the legal owner of the product I purchased, the company should send it back if they cannot repair/replace it. By not doing it, they are devaluing a customer.
