Pathocare Path Laboratory - Blunder in Blood reports by Pathocare path Lab Trivia Complex Opp Goodies Race course Vadodara

I had been keeping unwell and after a Doctor's consultation, I was asked to get few tests done. I contacted Pathocare Lab, at Trivia Complex, Opp. Goodies, Racecourse Road to send a person to collect my blood samples for the said tests. This was on **nd June '**. My blood was collected, and the reports were received in * hours. I met my Doctor for further consultation based on the results of the reports. As per the results, it claimed that I was heavily diabetic. The tests showed FBS as *** and Homa IR as *.*. Neither my Doctor nor my family could believe this as my lifestyle is not in any way something that could lead me to being a diabetic. To be absolutely sure and reach firm conclusions the Doctor asked me to get FBS, PGBS and HbA*C.
Again, I made the same call to Pathocare and the person came in to collect my blood sample on **th June '**. Received the reports and it showed my blood sugar as ** which was extremely normal. This was very shocking because just a few days ago it showed *** as per the results given by same Pathocare Lab.
The Doctor asked us to confirm the reports at path lab as he too was shocked seeing such a huge difference in just * days.
On rechecking with the path lab doctor at Pathocare Lab, Trivia Complex, Opp. Goodies, Racecourse we get to know that it was a "Technical Issue" from their end. Like seriously? Should such a blunder in the reports be considered only technical?
It was my own intuition and good judgement that even though I was asked to start the course of a diabetic patient, I didn't start immediately and decided to consult * other doctors.
And then on **th June I received the reports of the *st set of blood tests done with revised numbers and revised readings that too when the blood sample wasn't collected. The Lab claims it was a transcribe issue on technical front at their end!
I ended up getting multiple tests, multiple consultations with different doctors, personal distress on such a life-changing diagnosis, and a worried family - because of a technical blunder!!!!
What if I would have started the medication for diabetes? What if my body would have reacted and been an absolute mess due to needless medications? Who would be responsible for it? How many times do such errors occur at the Lab? And what is the process of ensuring that these errors are not repeated?
Still shocked and angered by their mishandling of such crucial information that is actually a matter of life and death in so many situations. I just want to alert others to pay attention to your own instincts and never blindly trust the 'expertise' of these labs.
