Debjyoti Mukherjee filed complaint against Airtel Broadband on Nov 8, 2025
This is to raise a serious grievance against Airtel Broadband for unfair early termination of a prepaid annual broadband plan and unauthorised deduction of OTT (Amazon Prime) charges.
In early ****, I renewed my *** Mbps annual plan for one full year at a discounted price of ₹**,***. The plan clearly included Amazon Prime, ZEE*, and other OTT subscriptions as bundled benefits, reflected in the Airtel Thanks App at the time of renewal. The payment was made in advance, and all OTT rewards were successfully activated under the “Rewards” section.
Now, Airtel has informed that my plan will end prematurely in December ****, *–* months before the original end date (March ****). Their justification is that they are deducting the Amazon Prime fee from my prepaid payment, despite it being a bundled benefit included in the plan.
Additionally, past complaints (such as regarding ZEE* access) were auto-closed without resolution, showing poor customer grievance handling.
This amounts to plan misrepresentation, breach of commitment, and unfair trade practice.
