Subject: Complaint Against ACT Fibernet for Deficiency in Service, Harassment, and Unfair Trade Practice

Respected Sir/Madam,

I, Smt. Rama Devi Pathi, W/o Shri Hari Prasad Pathi, residing at Villa **, Vijayashanthi Enclave, Kompally, Hyderabad – ******, respectfully submit this complaint against ACT Fibernet for interruption of paid internet services, harassment, and causing disruption during my working hours.
I am a working professional operating from home, and uninterrupted internet connectivity is essential for my employment. On **th September ****, I subscribed to ACT Fibernet and paid ₹*,***.** + GST for a three-month broadband plan (Customer ID: ************). Additionally, on **th September ****, I activated a value-added Live TV service for ₹***, valid for ** days.
However, within just ** days, ACT began demanding new payment for the TV service, without completing the validity period. When I refused to pay again for a service already billed, ACT disconnected my regular broadband service (which was already paid for * months). This disconnection took place on **th October **** without any valid justification.
I raised a total of seven (*) service tickets, yet no resolution has been provided. The customer care team continues to harass me for additional payment and keeps reconnecting and disconnecting the service repeatedly — causing:
Loss of productive work hours
Disturbance and embarrassment during work calls
Mental stress and harassment
Despite my repeated clarification that I do not wish to continue the value-added service after its validity, they insisted on payment and continued threatening disconnection. Such unfair coercion, especially during urgent work needs, is a serious issue faced by consumers, forcing them to pay for services not requested or valid.
This conduct amounts to deficiency in service, harassment, and unfair trade practice, which violates consumer rights under the Consumer Protection Act, ****.
I request the Hon’ble Commission to kindly take up this complaint and provide justice at the earliest, including necessary directions to ACT Fibernet for restoration of services and compensation for the harassment caused.
