Subject:- *) Unsatisfactory services (*) Overcharging for retired Central Govt senior citizen patient (*) Rude response from hospital staff (*) Perception about unnecessarily prolonging patient’s stay just to make money
Respected Sir/Ma’am,
We would like to express our concerns over the subject mentioned above and want appropriate authorities to take action immediately to resolve my queries.
Purpose of this complaint is to ensure: - *) They should not charge on their whims and fancies (*) There should be timely and proper diagnose and with appropriate treatment at the earliest so that patient can be discharged soon with proper relief. (*) Upon this complaint, we would also like to ensure that there will be no retaliation with our patient in any manner or else we might need to take Legal Action against the hospital and relevant doctors.
My mother was admitted to Moolchand hospital on **th Oct with complaints regarding difficulty in swallowing food or water.
*) She was taken to emergency for the ailment of difficulty in swallowing food. Doctors on duty diagnosed neck muscle spasm and suggested few other tests.
*) She was then advised to get admission in ICU on **th Oct as her blood sugar, infection and other vitas were out of range. We were asked to pay Rs **** on admission which is not supposed to be charged from CGHS empanelled hospital.
a. When we opposed it then we were given unsatisfactory response that Moolchand Hospital charges it. It was like
*) She was shifted from ICU to ward on **th Oct. We were told that doctors are trying to normalize her sugar levels and infection
*) On **th Oct morning when we asked about update about her condition and diagnostic findings, we were told that either ENT or Gastro doctor will do their respective tests to check her food swallowing problem
*) On **st Oct, when we asked about an update about those findings, we were told that nothing has been done on previous day. Hospital staff did not give satisfactory response. They wasted entire One Day and did nothing.
We got furious and upon insisting, my mother was immediately taken for Laryngoscopy within ** minutes.
WE WOULD LIKE TO ASK WHY THAT TEST WAS NOT DONE SINCE **TH Oct WHEN SHE GOT ADMITTED. WHAT WERE THEY WAITING FOR??
Nursing station staff also gave lame excuses and were not sharing HoD details or any other senior doctor’s name to whom we could speak to.
We would like to mention Ruchika Pahuja especially as she was not sharing any detail information for which we have right to ask. She was very rude.
*) We went to Ms Negi – Operations Head and narrated our ordeal of last * days. She gave affirmation that she will look into it and take necessary action
*) We have arranged a day time maid to look after our Mother in hospital as our Father has underwent Brain Surgery and he also needs to be looked after. We are unable to attend both the parents at the same time and thus we are making visits to hospital twice a day. On this front, senior doctors and hospital staff is blaming us that we are not there with Mother. They simply cannot blame us for not being available when they themselves (Doctors) do not have fixed schedule to visit the patient. We cannot keep on waiting for them for *-* hours.
a. We would like to ask hospital authorities that why don’t they call us for any information or queries when we have already provided * mobile numbers. It is hospital’s responsibility to take care of patient as long as they are admitted.
*) Fyi (for your information), our Father underwent brain surgery with lot of important tests including MRI, CT etc at Fortis Escorts Okhla hospital. He was discharged in * days.
a. We would like to understand what is there with our Mother that it is taking * days for sugar, infection and neck muscle spasm and still there is no sight of discharge sooner?
