Disappointed, Helpless , feel cheated and heartbroken by Paytm.
I never thought I will have to end up here for someone to hear me out and resolve my issue. It's important to mention my background, before penning down my grievance.
I am a VP at one of the world's largest investment bank, in Bangalore. My father is a "principal" of one of the best CBSE schools in my hometown. Here goes the story -
Sitting in Bangalore, I ordered NIKE AIR ZOOM VOMERO ** RUNNING SHOES from PAYTM, for my father. A package was delivered on August *th to my father. It was supposed to be the Nike shoes. But guess what inside the Nike box, he received local road side pink sneakers.
I raised a return request immediately. I was hoping to be a pretty straightforward process. I don't receive what i order, i raise a compliant without wasting time. Hardly i knew, I am going to enter a never ending nightmare of back and forth email chains and calls to customer care and everyone ranting the same response again and again.
I raised my first return request on Aug - *th, ****, Reference No.: *********. I was asked to provide all images and the background of the person the package was handed over to. I provided all information.
I was asked to wait as there was some investigation being done. On Aug-**th, ****, I received the following response -
Hi Rachit,
We investigated this from all ends about your order **********, and regret to inform you that we will not be able to initiate refund as our findings indicate that the courier partner delivered the correct product to you. I apologize for any inconvenience caused.

I called the customer care right away. I requested the call to be transferred to a supervisor and after ** minutes of wait, my call was transferred to Himanshu.
I told him, I received a fake/wrong product and there is no way this return request should take so long and later be rejected. I had to give him my and my father's background to make him realize that it's a genuine case. He raised a complaint and assured a resolution soon . Complaint no. - *********. I was hoping it to be a complaint regarding the wrong product delivery and initiation of a refund. Until I called back on Monday, August **th ****. I was told by the customer care executive that your complaint has been resolved. And the resolution is -
“Paytm has provided the correct resolution to the customer”.
I mean seriously. The resolution for a fake product return is – that the previous resolution has been correct. I was transferred to “HIMANSHU” - another supervisor, again after **minutes of waiting. He too raised another complaint of a similar nature I suppose.
I called in today August, **th ****, and talked to Shadab(supervisor). He tells me that we can't help you any further. The correct product was delivered to you as per our investigation.
I waited for another ** min on the call, to get the call transferred to his manager, but the call dropped.
So Paytm says, I am lying.
Paytm says, I am cheating paytm by replacing a fake product by the correct product delivered to me.
Paytm says, I , who have a history of relying on Paytm for all range of products, is raising a false return request.
Paytm says, my father, who's a principal and who teaches the lessons of honesty to the future generation, replaced the original Nike shoes with a road side shoe and asked his son, who's a VP in a bank in bangalore to raise a return to cheat paytm of **** Rs.
This is not what paytm support said, but this is what they imply. I can only laugh at this.
I am highly disappointed by the after sales support, the attitude and the process.
You helped me with no option but to post here. I won't have any choice but to file a complaint to the consumer forum if I do not hear from Paytm even after this.
