I am Arvind Narayanan, a regular customer of Redbus. I want to bring to your notice that My phone Samsung A* **** was stolen my from seat within a minute of boarding the bus.
Bus details-
Travels- A* Travels
Date and Time of departure- *rd Feb ****; **:**pm
Boarding Point- Madiwala, Bangalore
Drop Point- Gandhipuram, Coimbatore
Bus no. NL ** B **** (AC Sleeper)
Seat no- L*, L*
Passengers- Aditya Narayanan and Arvind Narayanan
Incident details-
My brother Adithya and I boarded the bus around **:**. The ticket was booked by me and i had the ticket in my phone. We entered the bus and I took my phone out to confirm the seat number while looking at the seats. Once we found the seat, i had just kept my phone down on the seat while i was taking my charger out from the bag and plugging it in the socket. In that split second, my phone was lost. We took * minutes to search around the seat. And we realised that someone had passed out seat * minutes back. My bluetooth headset was connected to the phone and the phone was on and getting calls from my brother's phone when we kept trying. It meant that the phone was within the bus. We immediately started tracking the phone online. It said that the phone was exactly in the same place.
We immediately reported about the to the bus driver and the conductor. But they took it lightly and told us to check around. The bus started from Madiwala and we were looking all around the place, doing everything we can to find the phone without disturbing other co- passengers. We were constantly calling and tracking the phone and the phone travelled with us and the only explanation is that the phone was within the bus. We tried to seek the bus driver and conducter's help but in vain. They were irresponsible in their response and got no support from them in this situation
A little before Hosur, we took the situation into our own hands and asked the conductor to switch on lights. We checked all the passengers' bags. I admit, i checked a co-passenger's pocket without seeking his permission inspite of his cooperation to let us check his bag. He got upset and angry about it and took it to the conductor. I sincerely apologised for the mistake and let this unrest slip into calmness.
After all the efforts from our side, we asked the driver to take the bus to the police station because the phone was still in the bus, very much connected to my bluetooth headset and the GPS tracker for my phone following the bus as the phone was on the entire time.
The driver and the conductor didn't cooperate again and immediately the driver stopped at a random place saying that the conductor needs to take a leak. At my phone's gps location got stuck at the place where the conductor stopped.
This leads my suspicion strongly towards the bus staffs. They panicked when we told the driver to take the bus to the police station and disposed the phone immediately.
As a customer of A* travels and Redbus i am deeply disappointed with the careless nature of staff and a possible theft by the conductor and the driver of the bus. The most outrageous part is that there was no way i could get in touch with either A* travels or Redbus for help.
I have attached the screenshot that shows the location of the phone (Hotel Balaji Paradise, Hosur main road, **kms from Madiwala). How can a phone travel for **kms and stop moving from the place the driver stopped for the conductor to take a leak?
