I bought apple device on Oct **** and gifted to family member. He logged on with his Apple ID. Due to some issues we both separated and I got the apple device back.
As he logged on that device by using his Apple ID, I'm not able to unlock the device and I can't get unlock the device from him anymore.
As per Apple company internal policy, if we provide a proof of purchase of the product, Apple will unlock the device. So I submitted the proof of purchase documents to Apple and they also agreed on Jun **** and told that lock was removed.
But when I check the device the lock still persist. So I contacted again and they asked to submit the proof of documents again and I submitted the same. But this time Apple is not accepting the same documents.
I contacted Apple customer care number of times but no proper response. Because of this I'm not able to use the device as it's locked state with previous user's Apple ID.
It's really weird that they agreed initially with the proof of purchase and then they're not agreeing with the same documents. It's been * years now and I'm still not able to use the device though I was the Original Owner of the device
