S M Emporium - Copies of Original Suits Sold after False Marketing
Burhan Iqbal filed complaint against S M Emporium on Sep 4, 2020
‘S&M Emporium’ is a fraud seller on Instagram. Customers are attracted on the pretext of selling original expensive suits on sale, for a cheap price and then they are sold, *st, *nd *rd copies.
I bought * suits from this seller for Rs *,***. The original suits are much more expensive, so I jumped at the opportunity to buy such a brand at such a low price. Turns out it was not true. I was sent * basic cotton suits which would probably be worth about *,***-*,*** Rs.
Two of these suits were for *,*** and one was for *,*** (blue).
When I messaged her and told her that these were not original, rather than countering me, she instead started talking about how she has customers all over the world and nobody has ever complained. She told me that the originals are expensive and all her customers have told her these are exact mirror copies. She kept asking me what is wrong with these suits, completely overlooking the fact that she lied about it being original.
I came to know about this page from a family friend. So I got them involved to talk some sense into her but to no avail. So I gave her the following options:
- Refund me the money and I will send you these suits back.
- Show me some ‘Original Suits’, I will select and you send me those and then I will return the ones that I have.
She kept insisting on no return policy, as if it’s some big organization. So the first option didn’t work.
She kind of agreed to the second option, but wanted to use this as an opportunity to get more money out of me. She said, “please return the blue suit (worth *K), I will send you an original suit worth *.*K, and you just need to pay me *.*K more”. I told her that I would not pay a single penny more; she can send me the original one and I will return the three previous ones and nobody has to pay anyone anything more and it will be settled. Then for a time she even asked me to transfer courier charges of about *** Rs. Just shockingly shameful.
She started showing me ‘originals’ worth ‘*K-*K-*K’ according to her. But when I double checked the exact same suits on other sites, they were worth *.*K to *K max. It was now confirmed that she is not honest in any way and is out there only to cheat.
She probably has clients who do not know much about original suits, clothes and texture, so she has never been called out.
I am attaching pictures of our chat, wherein she confirmed that the suits are original, not once but twice. Her Instagram page also says that the suits are original. And in the chats she has confirmed that these are mirror copies.
I would never have bought these if I knew they were copies. Rather than spending so much on copies I would have bought from very good, inexpensive brands like Aurelia, Biba etc. There is so much choice in the market.
I ordered the suits on **th June and received delivery in two separate parcels. First one on *th July and the second one on **th July. I have been following up and discussing and trying to find a solution since then. In between, for some time I did not contact her as she mentioned that her father in law had expired.
The point is, she did false marketing and sold me a fake copy. I would like a complete refund, plus the courier charges which I will have to pay when I send the suits back, plus the amount I will have to spend on legal action, if it comes to that, and finally an apology for cheating me and wasting my time.
