On the **th of March, **** we walked into the Livspace Experience Centre situated at Marathahalli, Bangalore towards planning the interior designing of our new home. Assisted by their staff Zeeshan for a walk-through, we were then asked to wait for the manager to meet us. After an endless wait, the Marketing manager showed up as if in a bid to give a discount out of his pocket. An indicative price was quoted (that would change in future based on add-ons / customisation). We were then coerced to pay an upfront cash deposit, as the offer was “valid EOD only”. An amount of Rs.**,***/- to the personal number of their staff Mr. Strolin Roy was duly carried out via UPI transfer (transaction reference ************- ICICI Bank dated **/**/****). They did nothing beyond taking the money in advance.
Rigorous follow ups then came along for another advance payment of Rs.*****/- towards the “scheduling site inspection & measurement”. QR codes for transfer was shared by Whatsapp without any further delay (the only work that was diligently carried out!) The design plan would tentatively take another month! Their processes were annoying and seemed like a show at taking money and buying time.
We were totally disturbed and distressed by their callous approach. Managing our timelines & the expected deliverables; seemed impractical. We decided to get the home interiors through our local carpenter - right from procurement of great material, nil stress and lesser efforts, on-time service deliverables, also < quarter of your rates quoted!
A year now since they have quietly pursed the amount of Rs.**,***/- Intriguing to note, that none in their team deemed it fit to reach out or refund the money for “zilch / no services” rendered. Our mail escalation with requests for a documented explicit reasoning to seek due diligence and confidence towards which this remittance has been taken, is conveniently being ignored. It is as if we have paid an entry fee / penalty of Rs.**,***/- for visiting their showroom.
This was an eye-opener for us and would like to caution many others gullible to such gimmicks by big brands. The mushrooming of such businesses making fast bucks in the name of deposit money, spot offers and their disclaimer jargons are proof of unethical business practices to which the layman fall prey. This seems to be a huge scam, a means of swindling money and grievances need to be addressed. Ignoring escalations and evading refunds in the name of some organisational policies are just a farce.
As a customer we feel cheated. Numerous mail escalations (care@livspace.com)have only been responded by an assurance of reverting within ** hours but nobody ever cares. Our Active Ticket reference no. being ******. We expected that our concerns shared to the team would be amicably resolved with clarity and transparency and the amount be refunded. Instead, they buy time for responses and then choose to ignore till the next mail. Needless to say this is harassment, we are losing our peace of mind & time in the pursuit of sorting this out. Hence reaching out to you as we feel going legal is the only approach left now.
