I had an extremely disappointing stay at this homestay. As we were a large group of **, we had booked a dormitory.
Here are the key issues we faced:
*. **Difficult Access**: The path leading to the property was terrible, steep, and hard to navigate. A little rain would make the muddy road almost impossible to drive on, forcing the group to hike uphill while the cars crawled their way up for nearly *-* km. With no cell network and Google Maps not showing a route, arriving was a stressful experience.
*. **Poor Service**: The service was mediocre at best. The stay was severely understaffed with just *-* people handling everything from cleaning to cooking. Most times, the staff wasn't even visible, and you had to knock on the kitchen door to get their attention. They looked frustrated and exhausted, clearly lacking the enthusiasm to provide decent service. After a point, we felt bad asking the aunty for any help considering how exhausted and irritated she looked.
*. **Terrible Connectivity**: There was no network coverage except near a tree in a corner of the property where you might get just one bar. The WiFi only worked in the dining/reception area (both the same), which was decent if not for the frequent power cuts. In an emergency or if you needed to make calls, you were at the mercy of this facility.
*. **Poor Room Maintenance**: The rooms were poorly maintained. Although the room was swept, the beds were dirty, with stained sheets covered in insect remains. This was somewhat understandable considering the location, until you spotted a cockroach running across the sheets.
*. **Limited Food Options**: The food options were very limited, leaving much to be desired. We expected some variety or at least some local specialties, but were sorely disappointed.
*. **Inconvenient Policies**: The facility turned off the lights at ** PM to force everyone indoors, which was incredibly inconvenient, especially since we booked the stay to enjoy the outdoors around a bonfire. This completely ruined the outdoor experience we were hoping for.
*. **Bathroom Inconvenience**: With ** people sharing one bathroom, it was a major inconvenience. Additionally, the two common toilets outside were poorly maintained, and one was locked up after ** PM for some reason. Make sure to bring your own toiletries as nothing is provided.
*. **Remote Location**: The closest shop is downhill about *-* km away, and the nearest petrol station is about ** km. So, stock up on snacks and fuel before heading up here. Being so remote, the lack of basic amenities became even more frustrating.
*. **Unresponsive Owner**: We asked for a partial refund, but there was limited response from the owner, who became unreachable after we raised the complaint. This level of customer service is unacceptable, especially given the high price we paid.
The cost of **** Rs per head is definitely not worth it given the poor quality of the stay, the lack of facilities, and the unresponsiveness of the staff. I understand the experience they were trying to offer is meant to be around the hype of camping outdoors, but we didn't book a tent. *k for a dirty bed is steep, and there is literally nothing else the stay provides on their own.
Overall, I would not recommend this place to anyone. Save your money and stay somewhere else.
